Looking for east coast family vacation ideas? If so, then you
have come to right place, since the east coast of the United
States has so much to offer. Whether its spending time on a
great beach, enjoying beautiful scenery, visiting one of the
many great theme parks or reliving some history of our nation's
past, you are bound to have a great family vacation.
While probably no one will agree on the top attractions or best vacation destinations on the east coast,
here are some vacation ideas that should be helpful.
Florida is a favorite vacation spot for many visiting the east coast, and features some of
the finest beaches in the world. In fact, you can easily spend some great time with your
family relaxing and playing on the beaches and while you are there, take a tour of the
Kennedy Space Center. It is located about 45 miles east of Orlando just north of Cocoa
Beach. Also, Orlando is a great family vacation destination and is home to many great
family theme parks like Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Studios.
Washington, DC offers many different family vacation options that can be very educational
and great fun at the same time. Take a tour of our nation's capitol and explore many of the
sites and monuments in the area. There are many fully guided and narrated tours that will
allow you to see a great deal in just one day. A visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space
Museum is an unforgettable experience for both young and old alike, and not to be
missed if your schedule allows for it.

Outer Banks, North Carolina
Cape Cod's small town character and miles and miles of beachfront draw many
visitors each year. It is a beautiful boot shaped peninsula that forms the easternmost
portion of the state of Massachusetts. It is home to the Cape Cod National Seashore,
and the famous islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are just a short distance
away. Enjoy some great seafood during your visit and explore some of the nearby
islands by taking a ferry ride.
The Outer Banks of North Carolina covers a fairly large area. It is about a 200 mile
long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. It is home to Cape
Hatteras National Seashore and Cape Lookout National Seashore. The area around
Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head is popular. Here, you can visit the Wright Brothers
National Memorial and Jockey's Ridge State Park, which is home to the largest sand
dunes on the east coast.
